ADOPTION OF MINUTES

Minutes of November 17, 2003

Moved by Councillor Wejr, seconded by Councillor Brookes, that the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting, held on November 17, 2003, be adopted as circulated.

CORRESPONDENCE

Spallumcheen Band — November 20, 2003

Re: Signage

Mayor Phillips informed Council that she was advised by the Spallumcheen Band that this letter was sent in error.

Enderby & District Credit Union — November 22, 2003

Re: Luncheon "Success by 6" Program & Early Childhood Development

Mayor Phillips is unable to attend this function. The City will be represented by Councillor Ludwig and Councillor van Berkel.

UBCM — November 24, 2003

Re: Bill 75

Moved by Councillor Wejr, seconded by Councillor Ludwig that the City of Enderby issue letter in support of the UBCM Executive’s opposition to Bill 75.

Ministry of Management Services — November 14, 2003

Re: Grants-in-Lieu of Taxes

Moved by Councillor Ludwig, seconded by Councillor van Berkel that the correspondence be received and filed.

Moved by Councillor van Berkel, seconded by Councillor Brookes that the correspondence be received and filed.

Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection — November 18, 2003

Re: Proposed Class A Parks

Moved by Councillor van Berkel, seconded by Councillor Wejr that clearer mapping of the affected parks and indication of public access to the parks be requested of the Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection.

NEW BUSINESS

Appointments to North Okanagan Regional District Board

Discussion:

REPORTS

Councillor van Berkel

Councillor van Berkel reported that the school Parent Advisory Committee has expressed a desire to dialogue regarding a joint use agreement. The Mayor advised that the School District had requested a meeting with herself, the Area F Director and Recreation Excellence on the issue.

Councillor Shipmaker

Councillor Shipmaker reminded Council of the OCP Public Open House taking place tomorrow, December 2 from 2 — 8 p.m. at the Drill Hall.

Councillor Wejr

A Centennial Committee Meeting was held which was very well attended. A large number of suggestions were presented. Councillor Wejr advised that the web site will be used extensively to promote the project. An events calendar is being developed. People will be encouraged to e-mail the City with items of interest. The next meeting is scheduled for January 20, 2004.

Councillor Ludwig attended the following functions:

Councillor Vetter commented that there has not been a re-cycling report for quite some time. Public Works Superintendent will be asked to submit a report for the next meeting.

CLOSED MEETING RESOLUTION

Moved by Councillor van Berkel, seconded by Councillor Wejr, that Council hold a meeting closed to the public in order to discuss one or more topics under Section 242.2 of the Local Government Act.
